After breakfast, we visit the Grand Palace, dedicated to the ceremonies of the Thai Royal Family.

It is the most sacred, respected, and majestic site in Bangkok. The Grand Palace is a complex of buildings in the heart of the city that served as the official residence of the Kings of Siam (and later Thailand) from 1782 until the early 20th century. The King, his court, and the royal government carried out their functions here until 1925.

Within the same complex lies the magnificent Wat Phra Kaew, famous for the Emerald Buddha statue. After exploring this complex, we continue to Wat Pho, home to the giant Reclining Buddha, and Wat Traimit, renowned for its Golden Buddha.

Wat Pho is one of the oldest and largest Buddhist temples in Bangkok, located on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River, just south of the Grand Palace. The temple houses the famous “Reclining Buddha” statue, representing Buddha on his deathbed. It is 45 meters long and 15 meters high, with feet intricately inlaid with mother-of-pearl.

Lunch on your own at a local restaurant (payment on-site).

In the afternoon, you will take a boat trip along the Chao Phraya River, exploring the vibrant inner canals of the Thonburi bank, which offer fantastic views of local life. You will have the opportunity to taste local specialties and buy souvenirs. Along the way, we stop at Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn.

Return to the hotel and free time to relax. Overnight stay in Bangkok.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Early morning departure for Bang Pa-In, where you will visit the famous summer residence of the Royal Family. In the late morning, you will arrive in Ayutthaya, home to the celebrated ruins that served as the capital of the Kings of Siam for over four hundred years, from the 14th to the 18th century.

Visit the Wat Chai Watthanaram temple, situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River and built in the 17th century in Khmer style, featuring five monumental “Prangs” at its center. Continue with a visit to Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the temple of the ancient Royal Palace consisting of three giant bell-shaped pagodas, followed by the adjacent Wat Mongkhon Bophit, which houses a massive seated Buddha statue.

After lunch, we continue toward the city of Phitsanuloke in the north-central part of the country. Arrive in Phitsanuloke in the late afternoon (timing depends on traffic conditions) and visit Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, which contains the original sacred “Phra Buddha Chinnarat” statue. This temple is considered one of the most sacred in the country and is visited daily by thousands of Buddhist pilgrims. Here, you can witness one of the most traditional religious ceremonies: the offering to the monks (“Sankhathan”), a precise ritual involving prayers and thanksgivings in the ancient Pali language between monks and pilgrims.

Continue to nearby Sukhothai, once the site of the first capital of Siam and the birthplace of Siamese culture, language, and national identity (13th and 14th centuries). Arrival in Sukhothai at approximately 7:30 PM. Check-in, dinner on your own, and overnight stay.

Day 4

Sukhothai - Chiang Mai (B/-/-)

The day begins with a visit to the Sukhothai Historical Park, home to the ruins of Wat Mahathat, the impressive royal palace temple, the graceful Wat Sa Sri, and Wat Sri Sawai, which predates the Sukhothai kingdom and was originally dedicated to Hindu worship. Just outside the park walls, we will visit Mondop Sri Chum, which houses one of the most majestic and giant Buddha statues, standing approximately 15 meters tall.

After finishing the visits in the late morning, we will depart for Chiang Mai, the main city of Northern Thailand. Along the way, we will make several stops to discover typical local spots.

Expected arrival around 16:00 in Chiang Mai, the “Rose of the North,” one of the most important Buddhist spiritual centers in Asia, whose temples host some of the largest and most active monastic communities in the country.

We will visit the ancient Wat Phra Singh, whose “Bot” and “Wihan” are expertly crafted in wood with refined decorations. Finally, at Wat Chedi Luang, it will be possible to witness the melodious evening chants in the Pali language by the monastic community, inspired by the Dharma—the sacred teaching of the Buddha. The chants begin at 17:00 and last about twenty minutes; the ceremony is held in the “Wiharn,” where visitors are welcome to enter while maintaining respectful behavior.

Check-in at the hotel, dinner at your own expense (not included), and overnight stay.

Note: On special Buddhist holidays, the monks’ chants may be suspended. In such cases, every effort will be made to reschedule the experience for the following day.

Along the slopes of the mountain, you can also admire the Huay Kaew waterfalls.

In the early afternoon, visit a Chiang Mai orchid farm to see the local varieties.

Next, you will visit an artisanal center in the San Kamphaeng area. Here, skilled craftsmen produce silver objects, lacquerware, ceramics, silks, and the famous, colorful handmade paper umbrellas.
