We visit the Grand Palace, dedicated to the ceremonies of the Thai Royal Family. It is the most sacred, respected, and majestic site in Bangkok. The Grand Palace is a complex of buildings in the heart of Bangkok that served as the official residence of the Kings of Siam and later Thailand from 1782 until the early 20th century. The King, his court, and the royal government carried out their functions in the palace until 1925.

Within the same complex is the magnificent Wat Phra Kaew, known for the Emerald Buddha statue. After visiting this complex, we continue to Wat Pho, home to the giant Reclining Buddha, and Wat Traimit, famous for the Golden Buddha.

Wat Pho is one of the oldest and largest Buddhist temples in Bangkok. It is located on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River, south of the Grand Palace. The temple houses the famous “Reclining Buddha” statue, which represents the Buddha on his deathbed. It is 45 meters long and 15 meters high, with feet inlaid with mother-of-pearl.

Lunch on your own at a local restaurant (to be paid on-site).

In the afternoon, you will take a boat trip along the Chao Phraya River, visiting many lively inner canals on the Thonburi bank that offer fantastic views of local life. You will have the opportunity to taste local specialties and buy souvenirs. Along the way, we stop at Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn.

In the late morning, you will arrive in Ayutthaya, home to the celebrated ruins that served as the capital of the Kings of Siam for over four hundred years, from the 14th to the 18th century.

Visit the Wat Chai Watthanaram temple, located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River and built in the 17th century in Khmer style, featuring five monumental “Prangs” at its center. Continue with a visit to Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the temple of the ancient Royal Palace consisting of three giant bell-shaped pagodas, followed by the adjacent Wat Mongkhon Bophit, which houses a massive seated Buddha statue.

After lunch, we continue toward the city of Phitsanuloke in the north-central part of the country. In the late afternoon (timing depends on traffic), arrive in Phitsanuloke and visit Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, which contains the original sacred “Phra Buddha Chinnarat” statue. This temple is considered one of the most sacred in the country and is visited daily by thousands of Buddhist pilgrims. Here, you can witness one of the most traditional religious ceremonies: the offering to the monks (“Sankhathan”), a precise ritual involving prayers and thanksgivings in the ancient Pali language between monks and pilgrims.

Continue to nearby Sukhothai, once the site of the first capital of Siam and the birthplace of Siamese culture, language, and national identity (13th and 14th centuries). Arrival in Sukhothai at approximately 7:30 PM. Check-in, dinner on your own, and overnight stay.

We will begin the day by visiting the Sukhothai Historical Park, which contains the ruins of Wat Mahathat, the impressive temple of the Royal Palace, as well as the graceful Wat Sa Sri and Wat Sri Sawai, which predates the Sukhothai kingdom and was initially dedicated to Hindu worship. Outside the walls of the Historical Park, we will visit Mondop Sri Chum, which enshrines one of the most majestic and gigantic Buddha statues, standing approximately 15 meters tall.

Concluding the visits in the late morning, we depart for Chiang Mai, the great city of Northern Thailand. Along the way, we will make stops to visit some typical local sites.

At approximately 4:00 PM, arrival in the famous city of Chiang Mai, the “Rose of the North,” one of the most important Buddhist spiritual centers in Asia, whose temples house the largest and most active communities of monks in the country.

Visit the ancient Wat Phra Singh, whose “Bot” and “Wihan” are expertly built of wood with refined decorations. Finally, at Wat Chedi Luang, it will be possible to admire the melodious and idyllic evening chants in the Pali language by the monastic community, inspired by the Dharma, the sacred teaching of Buddha. The chants take place at 5:00 PM and last for about twenty minutes. At Wat Chedi Luang, the ceremony is held in the “Wiharn,” where visitors can enter while maintaining respectful and quiet behavior.

Check-in at the hotel, dinner on your own, and overnight stay.

Note: In conjunction with certain special Buddhist holidays, the monks’ chants may be suspended on some days. Should these holidays coincide with the visiting days, every effort will be made to experience the event the following day.

Along the slopes of Doi Suthep, you can also admire the Huay Kaew waterfalls.

In the early afternoon, visit the Chiang Mai orchid farm.

Next, you will visit a handicraft center in the locality of San Kamphaeng. Here, skilled artisans produce silver objects, lacquerware, ceramics, silks, and colorful paper umbrellas with expert hands.

Exceptional experience with Amo Travel My 5 friends and I planned to go on vacation in Cambodia and Vietnam. Usually we organize everything ourselves but there a friend had advised us to go through a local travel agency (Amo Travel) to free us from all this burden. And we were not disappointed. A little last minute, Thuy, our contact person within the travel agency, took care of the whole trip organization a month before leaving. Activities, flights, transport, some meals, guides, everything was booked for us according to our criteria, and it has a price without competition if we had passed through a travel agency in Belgium.I can only warmly recommend going through amo travel for your vacation in Vietnam, which I have no doubt, will be as unforgettable as ours:) Thanks again to Thuy

Very happy with Amo Travel We had a great experience with Amo Travel. We started planning this holiday 10 months ago so there have been many, many emails . All of our requests/queries were dealt with immediately and sympathetically as we did make some changes. Our travel consultant was Ngoc Anh - ask for her though I am sure the rest of the team are as good . I have no reservations about recommending them 100%

A Perfectly Organised Tailor-Made Journey in Laos and Thailand This was our second trip with Amo Travel , and just like the first one , which we took two years ago through Vietnam , Laos and Cambodia , this journey in Laos and Thailand was also tailor-made .We planned a 28 night itinerary with Mrs Huong , with whom we had a constant email exchange to put the trip together , alternating temple . visits, trekking, cycling excursions and boat tripsThroughout our email correspondence Houng was always very precise, helpful and extremely willing to make adjustments giving suggestions . After staying in Luang Prabang we went to Oudomaxay for a wonderful jungle trek in order to seer the last mountain ethnic groups . On our return to Luang Prabang we travelled up the Mekong river for two days on a traditional boat , stopping overnight in Pakbeng , before arriving in northern Thailand . There we alternate temple viists, trekking and cycling continuing on to Bangkok and the on to a stay in Phuket. The result was exactly the trip we wanted .The organisation was perfect. All accommodations were very good , some excellent and everywhere we found outstanding service and cleanliness and delicious food. The minibus used throughout the trip was very comfortable and always stocked with water . Everyone , from the drivers to the guides, was kind and helpful and always punctual. We also greatly appreciated Huang’s availability and the fact that she stayed in contact with us throughout the entire journey , always making us feel looked after. Our complete satisfaction leads us to highly recommend Amo travel and especially Mrs Huong who , moreover speaks excellent Italian Anna and Francesco from Italy

Amo Travel - you're go to local travel agency to visit Vietnam - highly recommended!! I have decided last minute to organise a trip to Vietnam and a friend recommended Amo Travel. I couldn't have found a better local travel agency. Thuan Nguyen assisted me in every step of the trip, she has been extremely professional, very responsive notwithstanding the different time zones, and was able to give me very valuables advices on the best places to visit. In an extremely short periodo of time she was able to book for me all accommodations, daily activities, transport (train as well as internal flights) in line with my budget and travel preferences. She was there, always available and supportive, during the entire two-weeks trip - I couldn't have asked for more!

perfection I have just returned from a trip to Vietnam organized by the agency Amotravel and I absolutely must leave a totally positive and enthusiastic review. The tour was planned a few months before leaving and the agency was always available and quick to fulfill all my requests as well as giving useful advice on what to expect from the trip.I was able to leave a deposit and settle on the spot the agreed price. As for the trip and the organization, I must emphasize that everything was perfect. We took a private tour and always had the Italian speaking guide and driver with us, and having made several stops between north, center and south, we changed many. And everyone was always very good, professional, punctual and helpful. The hotels chosen have always been impeccable, for cleanliness, location, and services. We were also able to change some trips planned the day before, and the agency even went to great lengths without us asking, to compensate for the new trip that maybe cost less than that choice, with dinners, and extra services....When we had some inquiries, on wattsup, the agency was always available and quick to respond...And finally the whole tour was splendid and expertly built by the agency: destinations, travel, stops for lunches and dinners,...I am sure I will return to Vietnam and other parts of Southeast Asia and will turn without a second thought to Amotravel which also deals with trips to Laos, Cambodia, and nearby areas.Thank you very much and for those who will read this review because they think to fly to Vietnam, I write in capitals: CONTACT AMOTRAVEL. STOP LOOKING FOR MORE. A 51-YEAR-OLD TRAVELLER WHO HAS MADE HUNDREDS OF TRIPS, MOSTLY ORGANIZED BY HIMSELF, BUT WHO HAS FOUND SOMEONE AS GOOD AS ME FOR VIETNAM, OR MAYBE MORE.Hello.
