Cu Lao Cham
Due to its pristine beauty and consistently high-quality tourism services, Cu Lao Cham has become one of the most popular seaside destinations for foreign tourists in Vietnam in recent years. Cu Lao Cham is an archipelago located 15 km off the coast of Cua Dai, and is therefore not far from the historic center of Hoi An. Cu Lao Cham is located in Tan Hiep, Hoi An, and is composed of 8 islands: Hon Lao, Hon Dai, Hon Mo, Hon Kho Me, Hon Kho Con, Hon La, Hon Tai, and Hon Ong. Among these, Hon Lao is the main island—the largest and the center of all commercial and tourist activities.
Cu Lao Cham is a cultural and historical vestige closely linked to the formation and development of the trading port city of Hoi An. Various sites here are characterized by the Sa Huynh culture (from the prehistoric era), the Champa culture (influenced by Indian and Javanese cultures), and the Dai Viet culture (the name of Vietnam during the periods of 1054–1400 and 1428–1804).
