Breakfast at the Hotel.

The day of the “Northern Vietnam Trip” is dedicated to discovering the city of Hanoi, starting with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex, including the main building – the Mausoleum (exterior only, closed on Mondays and Fridays), the majestic Presidential Palace, Uncle Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House, and the One Pillar Pagoda which, built of wood in 1049, rests precisely on a single pillar and represents the purity of the lotus flower. After that, the tour continues with a visit to West Lake – the largest natural lake in the city – and the Tran Quoc Pagoda which stands on the eastern shore of the lake. Unmissable then, a rare example of traditional Vietnamese architecture: the Temple of Literature – the ancient university built in 1070 in honor of Confucius to pay homage to scholars and literati. Free lunch of your choice in local restaurants.

You will begin the afternoon with a “xich lo” (cyclo) ride in the Old Quarter, which is considered the historic center of the city – a place with a thousand-year history teeming with vitality and commerce. The Quarter consists of 36 streets, each dedicated to the sale of a specific product and therefore bearing the name of that product: from colorful spices to food, shoes, clothing accessories, and even joss paper/fake money (Hang Ma). Passing through an interesting local market, you head towards the Lake of the Restored Sword (Hoan Kiem), linked to a legend of swords, emperors, and golden turtles, surrounded by ancient trees. You will visit the Ngoc Son Temple, an oasis of peace and tranquility, from which there is a beautiful view of the Turtle Tower (Thap Rua). The day concludes with the Water Puppet show.

Return to the hotel. Accommodation and overnight stay at the hotel.

Meet the tour guide and driver and then depart for Ninh Binh (100km ~ 2.5 hours). During the journey through the Red River Delta, stop if you wish to take photos. Upon arrival in Hoa Lu, you will visit the temples dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang of the Dinh dynasty (968-980) and Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le dynasty (980-1009), who played a vital role in gaining the country’s independence after a thousand years of Chinese rule. Both temples were built in the 17th century to symbolize deep respect for the Kings’ contributions. Free lunch at a local restaurant (not included).

The next stop is Tam Coc, which has been known as “Halong on Land” and appeared in the famous French film “Indochine.” Upon arrival at the pier, take a private sampan boat for a ninety-minute cruise along the Ngo Dong River. You will pass through three caves and witness a breathtaking landscape interspersed with small communities, rice paddies, cemeteries, and temples.

Continue your tour to Bich Dong, a typical pagoda in the Red River Delta countryside, built in the 15th century. Upon arrival, cross a stone bridge to Chua Ha, from which over 100 steps lead to Chua Trung – the cave pagoda with unique clay statues. Then walk up to Chua Thuong. Not only will you have the chance to learn about Buddhism, but you will also enjoy an incredible view of the countryside.

Located at an altitude of 1000 meters, Bac Ha is home to various ethnic groups such as the colorful Hmong, Phu La, and Tay. The Bac Ha region is well known for its vibrant weekly markets, surrounded by a wild and beautiful landscape. These markets are not just for trading goods but also serve as the epicenter for cultural encounters between the different ethnic groups living in harmony in this region. You will be able to visit a colorful ethnic market that takes place once a week (Coc Ly Market – Tuesday, Sin Cheng Market – Wednesday, Lung Khau Nhin Market – Thursday, Can Cau Market – Saturday, Bac Ha Market – Sunday). Your attention will surely be captured not only by the liveliness of the market but also by the many minority groups in their most colorful traditional dress.

After visiting the market, you will take a short walk through some small ethnic villages that make up Bac Ha, interspersed with cornfields, cassava hills, and clay houses; plum gardens adorned by H’Mong women in their colorful clothes will accompany you throughout the journey.

For those who prefer an easier trek, you can take a pleasant walk along the Muong Hoa River.

You will then head to Lao Chai Village via a small path that crosses the rice paddies to the small village. It is an excellent opportunity to learn about their daily life and culture. Exceptional experience with Amo Travel My 5 friends and I planned to go on vacation in Cambodia and Vietnam. Usually we organize everything ourselves but there a friend had advised us to go through a local travel agency (Amo Travel) to free us from all this burden. And we were not disappointed. A little last minute, Thuy, our contact person within the travel agency, took care of the whole trip organization a month before leaving. Activities, flights, transport, some meals, guides, everything was booked for us according to our criteria, and it has a price without competition if we had passed through a travel agency in Belgium.I can only warmly recommend going through amo travel for your vacation in Vietnam, which I have no doubt, will be as unforgettable as ours:) Thanks again to Thuy

Very happy with Amo Travel We had a great experience with Amo Travel. We started planning this holiday 10 months ago so there have been many, many emails . All of our requests/queries were dealt with immediately and sympathetically as we did make some changes. Our travel consultant was Ngoc Anh - ask for her though I am sure the rest of the team are as good . I have no reservations about recommending them 100%

A Perfectly Organised Tailor-Made Journey in Laos and Thailand This was our second trip with Amo Travel , and just like the first one , which we took two years ago through Vietnam , Laos and Cambodia , this journey in Laos and Thailand was also tailor-made .We planned a 28 night itinerary with Mrs Huong , with whom we had a constant email exchange to put the trip together , alternating temple . visits, trekking, cycling excursions and boat tripsThroughout our email correspondence Houng was always very precise, helpful and extremely willing to make adjustments giving suggestions . After staying in Luang Prabang we went to Oudomaxay for a wonderful jungle trek in order to seer the last mountain ethnic groups . On our return to Luang Prabang we travelled up the Mekong river for two days on a traditional boat , stopping overnight in Pakbeng , before arriving in northern Thailand . There we alternate temple viists, trekking and cycling continuing on to Bangkok and the on to a stay in Phuket. The result was exactly the trip we wanted .The organisation was perfect. All accommodations were very good , some excellent and everywhere we found outstanding service and cleanliness and delicious food. The minibus used throughout the trip was very comfortable and always stocked with water . Everyone , from the drivers to the guides, was kind and helpful and always punctual. We also greatly appreciated Huang’s availability and the fact that she stayed in contact with us throughout the entire journey , always making us feel looked after. Our complete satisfaction leads us to highly recommend Amo travel and especially Mrs Huong who , moreover speaks excellent Italian Anna and Francesco from Italy

Amo Travel - you're go to local travel agency to visit Vietnam - highly recommended!! I have decided last minute to organise a trip to Vietnam and a friend recommended Amo Travel. I couldn't have found a better local travel agency. Thuan Nguyen assisted me in every step of the trip, she has been extremely professional, very responsive notwithstanding the different time zones, and was able to give me very valuables advices on the best places to visit. In an extremely short periodo of time she was able to book for me all accommodations, daily activities, transport (train as well as internal flights) in line with my budget and travel preferences. She was there, always available and supportive, during the entire two-weeks trip - I couldn't have asked for more!

perfection I have just returned from a trip to Vietnam organized by the agency Amotravel and I absolutely must leave a totally positive and enthusiastic review. The tour was planned a few months before leaving and the agency was always available and quick to fulfill all my requests as well as giving useful advice on what to expect from the trip.I was able to leave a deposit and settle on the spot the agreed price. As for the trip and the organization, I must emphasize that everything was perfect. We took a private tour and always had the Italian speaking guide and driver with us, and having made several stops between north, center and south, we changed many. And everyone was always very good, professional, punctual and helpful. The hotels chosen have always been impeccable, for cleanliness, location, and services. We were also able to change some trips planned the day before, and the agency even went to great lengths without us asking, to compensate for the new trip that maybe cost less than that choice, with dinners, and extra services....When we had some inquiries, on wattsup, the agency was always available and quick to respond...And finally the whole tour was splendid and expertly built by the agency: destinations, travel, stops for lunches and dinners,...I am sure I will return to Vietnam and other parts of Southeast Asia and will turn without a second thought to Amotravel which also deals with trips to Laos, Cambodia, and nearby areas.Thank you very much and for those who will read this review because they think to fly to Vietnam, I write in capitals: CONTACT AMOTRAVEL. STOP LOOKING FOR MORE. A 51-YEAR-OLD TRAVELLER WHO HAS MADE HUNDREDS OF TRIPS, MOSTLY ORGANIZED BY HIMSELF, BUT WHO HAS FOUND SOMEONE AS GOOD AS ME FOR VIETNAM, OR MAYBE MORE.Hello.
