Ninh Binh, known as “the Halong Bay on land,” is a fascinating destination in Northern Vietnam. Here you will admire the Red River, which flows through the region, creating breathtaking landscapes. You will explore the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, with its historical ruins and Buddhist temples. You will take a peaceful cruise along the Ngo Dong River, through the wonderful beauty of the limestone hills and the caves of Tam Coc. You will visit the complexes of Chua Ha, Chua Chung, and Chua Thuong, where you can admire enchanting temples nestled among the mountains. Ninh Binh will enchant you with its pristine nature, its millennial history, and its unique attractions, giving you an unforgettable experience in the heart of Vietnam.

Departure for Ninh Binh (100km ~ 1.5 hours); the site is a jewel enriched by historical, cultural, religious, and natural wonders. During the journey, you will pass through the Red River Delta, where you can stop if you wish to capture the beauty of the place.
Upon arrival in Hoa Lu, the former capital of Vietnam from the 9th to the 10th century, you will visit the temples dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang of the Dinh dynasty (968-80) and Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le dynasty (980-1009), who played a vital role in gaining the country’s independence after it was ruled by China for a thousand years.

The next stop is Tam Coc, also known as “Halong on land,” which appeared in the famous French film “Indochine.” Upon arrival at the pier, you will take a private sampan boat for a ninety-minute cruise along the Ngo Dong River. You will pass through three caves and witness a breathtaking landscape interspersed with small villages, rice fields, cemeteries, and temples.
The tour then continues to Bich Dong (closes around 04:30 PM – 05:00 PM), a typical pagoda in the Red River Delta countryside, built in the 15th century. Upon arrival, you cross a stone bridge to Chua Ha, from where over 100 steps lead to Chua Trung – the cave pagoda with unique clay statues. You then climb on foot to Chua Thuong. In this place, you will not only have the chance to learn about Buddhism but also enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the countryside. The tour ends around 06:00 PM / 06:30 PM.
Return to Hanoi.
