The Ancient Village of Duong Lam is a historical treasure located in Hanoi, renowned for its authenticity and traditional charm. Here you will find the Mia Pagoda, an ancient religious complex dating back to the 13th century, which enchants with its traditional architecture and sculpted statues. In the Mong Phu commune, you can immerse yourself in traditional Vietnamese rural life, admiring the ancient laterite houses and enjoying the unique atmosphere of the place. The Temple of King Ngo Quyen, dedicated to a local noble, is another place of interest to explore. 08:30 AM: Meet with the guide at the hotel reception.
Departure: Head toward the ancient village of Duong Lam (55km ~ 1 hour), known as a living museum of the countryside and a typical village of the Red River Delta. You will notice a significant contrast as you move from the Old Quarter with its French colonial buildings to the lower, simpler structures of the rural areas.
Arrival: Visit the medieval Mia Pagoda, built in the 15th century, which houses approximately 300 statues made of wood or terracotta.
Lunch: Free time for lunch (not included) at a small local restaurant.
Afternoon: Strolling through the village alleys, you can visit one of the oldest houses. Then, cycle (optional) through ancient lanes to the Mong Phu communal house, dedicated to the Mountain God, believed to protect the village from evil. Near the original main gate, you will pass ancient wells and laterite houses. Continue cycling along small paths through the fields to the Temple of King Ngo Quyen, who lived in the 10th century and defeated the Chinese in 938 AD.
Return: Head back to Hanoi. Arrival in Hanoi around 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM.
